Manuscript Proposals

LawTech welcomes proposals for new manuscripts. To help us evaluate each proposal, we ask authors to submit the following information:

1. Title
2. Author Information
   
   • Name, address, email address, phone and fax number for all authors
   • Resumes for all authors
     
3. If more than one author, who is the primary contact?
   
4. If any of the authors have been published before, list the title, publisher and copyright date for all works.
   
5. The Table of Contents and a sample chapter, including images, graphics and artwork. Include a printed copy double-spaced, one-sided on 8 ½ x 11 paper and the electronic file on disk.
   
6. Target Market / Audience
   
   • Is the proposed book going to be used as a college textbook, training book or reference material?
   • If a college textbook, is it for upper or lower division courses?
   • Which colleges have existing programs that might be adopt the text?
   • If for in-service or entry level training, what agencies or departments might be interested?
     
7. Competition
    
   • List at least three other books available on the same topic.
   • What topics are included the tables of contents or those books?
   • What are the deficiencies and strengths of the competition’s books?
   • How will your book be unique and separate itself from the others?
     
8. Author’s Role
    
   • The author’s role in marketing is very important. For example, are you going to be doing seminars and training where the book can be included, or do you have specific colleges and agencies that will adopt the book?
