Mike KingMIKE KING, M.S., C.L.P.E

Mike is a Senior Investigative Analyst for Motorola, Inc., working on intuitive investigative software applications as well as providing on-site support and training to law enforcement agencies worldwide in crime analysis and criminal behavior. He retired from full-time law enforcement in 2004 with 25 years of service and is still a sworn officer doing analytical work for the Ogden City Police Department. During his law enforcement career, Mike attained the rank of Lieutenant and was appointed Chief of Staff in the Utah Attorney General’s Office with a staff of over 400 legal and law enforcement professionals. His law enforcement experience includes patrol, investigations, and administration at the city, county, and state levels of government. Mike served in the Intelligence Unit of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games as the federal liaison. Prior to that, he was the Director of the Utah Criminal Tracking and Analysis Project and served a 3 year assignment on the FBI VICAP (Violent Criminal Apprehension Program) National Board as the co-chair. Mike is an adjunct professor at Weber State University and Salt Lake Community College. He is the recipient of the 2002 NAPO “Top Cop” award, and the 1989 National Police Officer of the Year award and has a Master of Criminal Justice degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Communications. Mike is the published author of several books and has appeared on documentaries for the Discovery Channel and A&E’s History’s Mysteries. In addition to his consulting responsibilities, Mike is an international featured speaker and trainer.
